Lyrics

I was re-cording at RCA Nashville on the 3rd July, the studio was like a ghost town, but there was more there than met the eye.
The tension was very haunting but it was far from Halloween, with a strong presence of Elvis humming If I Can Dream.
I made it to the vocal booth where many greats have sang, a pure musical seance, hallucinating twang.
The next ghost was Waylon like a vapor from a tomb, with a voice that could raise the dead and hush a room.
Whose reflection is that in the window every time the door shuts. He looks so dang familiar and it’s driving me nuts.
Now I hear the cackle of Jerry Reed a mighty picking machine, showing Elvis how to play Guitar man, and making it look routine.
…..And look it’s Willie Nelson, alive and well no doubt, I ask him who’s on that window, he said you’re fixing to find out .
So my session is over and walking out through the hall, and there’s that familiar face it’s Tompaul, Tom Paul Glaser from the album wanted, the Outlaws…….
I couldn’t tell you how my session went, distracted to say the least, but I played and recorded with my heroes and it’s them who taught me…..to sing.
The ghost of RCA….music from a better day. The ghost of RCA still eager to come out and play.
